Firefall toured alot this summer, playing concerts all around the country and also a number of shows at home in Colorado, including a big Father’s Day concert at City Lights Pavilion in Denver with Grand Funk Railroad and Three Dog Night. BEATLES ART BOOK
In August 2006, Boxagami Books released internationally the coffee table book, "BEATLES ART - Fantastic New Art of the Fab Four.” Four of Jock’s ‘Beatles art pieces’ are included (three acrylic paintings and one pastel). The Publishers also asked him to write the ‘Foreword’ to the book. “What an exciting and humbling honor!” Jock said. “To be asked to write anything about the best band ever, The Beatles, is pretty astonishing. After the initial spontaneous first draft, I labored for two months trying to make the Foreword as perfect as I could make it. It had to be just right. Thankfully they liked it a lot and have said they’ll print it without changing a word.” To read the Foreword, click here. JOCK BARTLEY SOLO CD
After decades of being a self-proclaimed ‘band guy,’ Jock has finished his first ever solo CD, entitled 'Blindside.' He wrote all the songs and is the Producer. Many of his ‘name’ musical friends helped contribute to the recordings – Richie Furay (inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with The Buffalo Springfield), Rusty Young from Poco, John McEuen and Jimmy Fadden from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Magne from the Subdudes, Michael Travis from The String Cheese Incident and many other Colorado notable musicians and singers. Bob Harris, a fantastic vocalist previously with Warren Zevon and Frank Zappa, sang lead vocals on three songs. The CD is scheduled for a October 2006 release.

FIREFALL ‘SINGS THE BEATLES’ CD
Firefall’s Jock Bartley and Steven Weinmeister have performed a number of Beatles songs as ‘Acoustic Firefall’ on Archer’s ‘Breakfast With The Beatles’ Sunday radio show on 99.5 the Mountain Radio Station in Denver. After great listener response, they’ve decided to record a few more Beatles songs, and release a CD of ‘Firefall Sings The Beatles’ in the fall or winter of 2006. Some of those classic titles include ‘Come Together,’ ‘Girl,’ ‘Norwegian Wood,’ ‘I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party,’ ‘I’ll Be Back,’ ‘No Reply’ and others. CDs will be available for sale and web download soon.
‘DENVER POLO CLASSIC’ POLO TOURNAMENT
Jock Bartley was named the ‘2006 Artist of the Denver Polo Classic.’ This Polo Tournament and charitable event in Denver, Colo., happened on July 14, 15 and 16, 2006. Jock’s 24”x24” original painting entitled “The Match Winner” was auctioned off to the highest bidder on July 14th, with all proceeds going to various Children’s Charities in the Denver area. On Sunday, July 16th, immediately before the Championship Match, a 48x48 ‘Embellished giclee print’ (with many brush strokes hand painted by the artist) was also auctioned off for charity.
‘30th ANNIVERSARY REUNION’ of the ORIGINAL FIREFALL BAND.
2006 is the 30th Anniversary of the release of Firefall’s first album in 1976. Unfortunately, efforts to put together a ‘reunion’ of the original Firefall band for one or more concerts could not happen. Too many things going on. There were few obstacles that could not be overcome. Please check www.firefall.com for any updates.
